Jamie and Jacob are Married! | Jasper Elopement | Elena Evelyn Photography

I met Jamie through the Photographic Technology program at NAIT in 2013, little did I know the (what I believe to be) lifelong friendship we would create. I appreciate Jamie so much, as someone who isn’t the greatest at reaching out to people when I need to, she is always there to say “hey let’s do a coffee date!” She puts that effort in, and that to me is truly priceless, and really shows her heart. Love ya girl! I feel I can talk to her about anything, and she is such a good sounding board for ideas. We have a lot of similarities, as well as are the total opposite of each other in many aspects, which is so funny! And our partners are like a mirror of us our friendship.
Jamie has been one of my biggest supporters in my photographic journey. She has the biggest heart, and I’m so glad she found someone that has the same size of heart to match hers. Jamie and Jacob are so good together and to each other, I’m so excited for them and this new journey of marriage!

For their wedding day, we got ready at the Whistlers Inn, and headed to Pyramid Lake for their first look, ceremony, and some formal photos. Then we headed to Maligne Canyon for more formals, and then to Earls for their reception dinner. After dinner we went to the hotel’s rooftop hot tub to unwind, relax, and warm up! Which was the perfect ending to their day.
Jamie and Jacob’s wedding day was super intimate, with Katie Hudson (their amazing videographer!) and I as the only attendees (and witnesses!). I felt so honored to have been a part of their day, to document it all. I think one of my favorite moments was during their first look, when Jacob turned around and saw his bride to be for the first time, and listening and watching them tell each other their vows. They also included their family heritage into their day by having a handfasting ceremony, tartan, and pin. I love seeing those kind of personal touches!
We got super lucky with the weather in Jasper that day, (the day they chose was their anniversary! December 4th, 2019) as the next day was bitterly cold with a freezing wind chill. Although winter in Alberta, in the mountains no less is freezing cold, these two toughed it out, and I am so happy with the results!
Also can I just mention, Jamie’s wedding dress was handmade by her grandmother?! Talk about talented!
