Kirsten and Matthew Visser | Alberta Wedding Photographer Elena Evelyn | Potato Storage Bin Wedding

I’m super excited to share Kirsten and Matthew’s wedding photos. They are some of the kindest, warmest, and welcoming people I’ve ever met. Throughout my time with them from consultation to engagement session to delivering their wedding images, they exude such kindness. It’s rare to me to find people who are genuinely curious about me, like they were real, as cliché as that sounds.
When they took me on a quick tour of their farm with the bins filled with potatoes, I could have never imagined how they transformed that space for their wedding reception. Walking in you’re just in awe of how massive the room is. And while on the tour I enjoyed taking a deep breath in, smelling that fresh pulled veggie garden smell. Like you know the taste of a carrot fresh from the garden? That smell permeated that space, it was awesome.

Kirsten and Matthew were married in a packed Notre Dame De Lourdes Church in Fort Saskatchewan. What a stunning building, and ceremony! After their family photos behind the church, and some formals outside, in the church, across the river, at Millers Ice Cream, at their house and next to a canola field, we headed to their ceremony at Norbest Farms. As I mentioned, it was an amazing once in a lifetime experience photographing a wedding in a potato bin lol! I’ll never forget this day. I’ll also never forget the shenanigans the groomsmen got up to halfway through the formals, I literally fell to the ground in laughter. You’ll see why below! Enjoy.
